September 2021 DexNews: Vision Art Workshops for KDDI and DENSO Corporation, and Office Art Project for Seattle Consulting
Vision Art Workshop with KDDI Research, Inc. and KDDI research atelier
KDDI research atelier is a research and applied-research center that proposes new lifestyles and promotes co-creation with diverse partners. TokyoDex worked with the artist unit WHOLE9 to create a Vision Wall that visualizes the prosperous future of KDDI research atelier.
Members of KDDI Research Inc. gathered for a workshop designed to visualize the future of KDDI research atelier. During the discussion, many unique concepts came to light, such as the KDDI research atelier becoming “a place brimming with new discoveries and inspiration upon every visit,” “a savannah where the unknown lurks,” and “like a comfortable hometown where you can be yourself.”
Drawing inspiration from these discussions, WHOLE9 envisioned a piece that captures the excitement and synergy felt when the exchange of diverse ideas and values mix. Contrasting ideas such as “Past vs. Future” and “Danger vs. Safety” are interwoven throughout the work. Therein lies the aspiration for the research atelier to become a testing facility for the exploration of undiscovered worlds, supported by the fusion of new encounters and technologies.
Online Vision Art Workshop with DENSO Corporation Design Department
TokyoDex received a special request from DENSO’s Design department to create an artwork that would strengthen the team’s solidarity while serving as a reminder of the team's goals.
With this in mind, we designed an Online Vision Art Workshop with a core focus on the keyword “synergy.” During the discussion, members compared “synergy” to concepts such as an improvised jazz performance, attentive consideration for their coworkers as well as openly encouraging and complimenting each other’s strengths.
Artist Utsunomiya Ryouko took these ideas and transformed them into the diverse motifs highlighted throughout the work, creating a seamless depiction of synergy in itself.
Office Art Project For Seattle Consulting
Seattle Consulting aims to improve the world through their concept "Teamwork x IT.” When they wanted artwork to greet their guests at the entrance of their new office, TokyoDex was there.
We worked with artist unit RELISH, who skillfully lettered Seattle Consulting’s mission “TeamTech Move the World” onto the hallway of the entrance. While the lettering is simple, it conveys the passion of their mission and brings an air of sophistication alongside the hallway’s new colors.
