Buddy Bear Project

One of our recent TokyoDex projects features the work of artists Tadaomi Shibuya and MAHARO at the Embassy of Germany in Tokyo. These two artists drew inspiration from the word “harmony” and painted the Buddy Bear sculpture at the German Embassy in Tokyo. A Buddy Bear sculpture is an ambassador of Berlin as well as a symbol of peace. The artists believe that the true meaning of harmony (friendship) is about realizing unity through mutual respect between different people and cultures. The colors represent Germany and Japan, and the curved/straight lines express nature, traditions, technology and the future.
